Obtaining Your Trash Deposit Sticker
Braintree's blue trash deposit sticker for use at the Recycle and Compost Centers will expire June 30, 2024 and beginning July 1, 2024 Braintree residents must possess a new white sticker for access to these locations.

Beginning July 1, 2024 Braintree will charge a $25 fee for every sticker issued and a sticker will no longer be included in the curbside trash collection fee. Stickers can only be issued to residents who provide proof of an active vehicle registration in Braintree.
The new white trash deposit sticker will be available July 1, 2024. To obtain this new sticker, residents can visit the Water & Sewer Department at 85 Quincy Avenue or the Collector's Office at Braintree Town Hall, One JFK Memorial Drive anytime on or after July 1, 2024.

Curbside Trash Collection
Beginning July 1, 2024, Braintree's curbside trash collection fee will be $200 per residential unit for the year (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025).
Also beginning July 1, 2024 Braintree will begin billing the curbside trash collection fee with Braintree's Water & Sewer bill. This means residents’ annual trash collection fee can now be paid quarterly along with your Water & Sewer payment! Payments can be made online at Online Bill Payments or in person at the Water & Sewer Department at 85 Quincy Avenue or the Collector's Office at Braintree Town Hall, One JFK Memorial Drive. If paying in person, please bring with you the bill that includes the curbside trash collection fee.
The $55 senior discount is still available for eligible residents.
Curbside Trash Collection Opt-Out
Beginning July 1, 2024 the only curbside collection opt-out program will be the complete opt-out. To qualify for a complete opt-out option, a resident must possess a valid contract for trash and recycling collection at the address listed on the bill. The contract must be with a trash company permitted by the Board of Health, pursuant to Chapter 5.50 of the Town’s bylaws and MGL Chapter 111, Section 31A-31B and must cover the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. To apply, residents must provide a copy of their valid contract to the Water & Sewer Department or the Collector's Office ON OR BEFORE THE BILL DUE
Mattress Fee Collection:
Beginning July 1, 2024 Braintree will no longer offer curbside collection of mattresses and box springs. All residents needing to dispose of mattresses and/or box springs can utilize one of several private sector vendors offering this service. Resident One Load Fee Collection
The MA Department of Environmental Protection has established new regulations for municipalities relative to the Ivory Street Drop Off Recycling Center. Effective July 1, 2022 residents wanting to drop off up to 300 pounds of material must obtain a permit fee per load. Effective July 1, 2024, One Load permits will be $50. Permits can be purchased at the Treasurer’s Office. Payment is accepted via cash or personal check ONLY.
Additional Recycle or Trash Carts for Curbside Collection Fees
Residents can also purchase additional recycle or trash carts for curbside collection for the following additional annual fees:
An $100 annual fee for an additional trash cart (proration is available)
An $100 annual fee for an additional recycling cart (proration is available)
Once payment is made, your additional cart will be distributed to your residence.
Cart Exchange Fee
Residents wanting to swap out their curbside collection carts for a larger (64 gallon) or smaller size (35 gallon) cart can do so for a one-time swap-out fee of $75. This fee can be paid at the Treasurer’s Office and payment is accepted via cash or personal check.
Compost Bin Fee Collection:
Effective July 1, 2024, residents can purchase a Compost Bin for $60, payable via cash or personal check at the Treasurer’s Office
